Buzzing onto shelves in June 2027—A Rainbow for Bee!

I still remember the book that taught me how to read on my own: GO, DOG. GO! by P. D. Eastman. If you’re a Gen-X-er like me, maybe it was the same for you? Perhaps my attachment to that book (which my mom didn’t love, and which as a grown woman I now totally get…iykyk, lol) can be explained by my recognizing the precise moment I was actually reading words on a page, on my own. And perhaps remembering that feeling of such a major accomplishment when I was so little was what made the last year so fun for me as an illustrator?

I’ve had the pleasure over the last year to work on my first ever early readers—two books written by Emily Arrow that will be published by Candlewick in 2027. Aside from a couple exceptions, most of my books have been straight up picture books. If you’ve read this far, I guess it’s kind of obvious now—I loved working in the format!

So I’m thrilled to share the cover and a few interiors from the first book. A RAINBOW FOR BEE will buzz into the world in June 2027, but is now available for pre-order wherever you buy books.
